I am posting this now because I don't want to miss documenting it, but I can't find my camera after our weekend vacation, so I'll try to get a video posted later, so check back.
When it comes to Jonas getting older and getting through his milestones, I call it a Love/Hate issue. LOVE because it is so fun to see him do new things and keep up with his contemporaries, but HATE because I want this little bugger to stay cute and small and I have liked not having to keep a constant eye on him.
Well, I bring this up because I was eating breakfast this morning and I heard Jonas by the stairs that go up to the bedrooms and bathroom {only 6 stairs}. I thought to myself "he'll just be stuck at the bottom with both his hands on the second step." I heard him just having a grand ol' time and I look and saw him on the 5th stair!!! I was shocked to see him up so high. He's never even gone up the first one, let alone all of them. I took him back down and had him do it again. It was so much fun to watch him. Pete came home for a little bit to grab his laptop for work and he watched him cruise on up. In fact, he was going so fast, he nearly tipped over. He gets really excited when Pete comes home.
So, now I have to watch him, not going up, but wanting to come back down. At least if he does fall down, it's only 6 stairs and it is carpet at the bottom. The other set of stairs--not so much!!!
Oh, and along with a video of him climbing up the stairs, I'll post some stuff from our past weeks' vacation pictures.

i can't believe he's climbing the stairs!! how naughty. i can totally picture his open mouth in excitement though:}
Yes -sigh-. Once they get beyond 2 weeks, one always has to think..."Maybe he/she CAN do whatever." Because, often, they CAN. :-)
I say, beyond 2 weeks because this even can apply to the first time they turn themselves over. If they're too near an edge, oppppsies. Not goood.
Parenting is a full time job. Really actively so for about 18 years. Then forever so, when it comes to hoping they are still ok.
And then, comes Grandparenting! :-)
Enjoy every minute. I know people tell young parents this, all the time. Along with... before you know it, they'll be grown and gone. But, it's true. :-)

cute background chickie poo!!
It's all a very bitter-sweet thing. Owen has been rolling a little more and it's so cute, but it just means he'll start doing more and more. I'm actually looking forward to him walking and stuff so that he can play with Benson. Then Benson will be entertained by his brother. Jonas is getting so big. I can't wait to see him at Peach Days!
