Murphy has struck again (well, not Murphy himself, but his stinkin' law). This morning didn't start off too bad and things are okay now, but starting out at 8:40 this morning until 9:00, it was a wreck. (I was heading out the door to a women's choir rehearsal. We had two performances this afternoon.) Well, first I had to put the garbage can out on the street. Pete usually does it, but he was running behind, so I offered to do it. I went to pull it out from against the house and it would barely budge. It was full of small pieces of sheetrock among other misc. garbage. I didn't expect this task to take more than 30 seconds, but it turned into a 5 minute chore. I could hear the grass being torn as I tried to turn the thing around. It was super heavy and as I was trying to get it onto the driveway, it rubbed up against my brand new WHITE shirt getting dirt on it. Yes, it's all Murphy's fault. I hopped into the car and started off across town. Within a block, I realize I forgot my phone, but it's too late to turn back. Of course, I hit nearly every RED light possible. As I am waiting at one of the red lights, I reach down to tighten the buckle on my shoe. And, next thing I know, the buckle is hanging by a thread (the elastic has been gone for some time). When I am almost at the church where we practice, I realize that I had set a bag on top of the car before I left this morning. I even remember telling myself that I would forget it--well I DID! I was expecting neon pink flyers to be strewn down my street when I got home, but luckily, they stayed in the bag. For once, the wind didn't blow them all away! And to top it all off, I got a run in my nylons--okay that was not Murphy's fault, but it sure feels good to have someone to blame.

"It's like rain on your wedding day..."
I hate Murphy. He stinks. And just to note, it did rain on your wedding day. :)
Oh how I hate days like that...and it really DOES help to have someone to blame it on. I'll have to remember to blame it on Murphy next time.
PS I ALWAYS hit red lights. It's a curse that even my roommates have noticed without my bringing it to their attention. And I mean I REALLY hit them; they turn red right as I approach the intersection. Sick.
Hope the rest of your day went better!
Murphy is NOT cool! I am amazed that your bag stayed on your car and the papers even stayed in it! At least Murphy gave you a break there.
When I saw the title of your blog I thought that Murphy might be one of your fish that kills other things! It took a sec for the pic to load so I didn't have that to clue me in!
I love your stories. They are so fun to read. I hate days like that.
I'm so sorry Dana. I can't believe so many bad things can happen in such a short period of time. Things always go wrong for me when I'm in a hurry. That darn Murphy!
Looks like you at least got lucky about the papers on your car. Can you imagine how that would of topped off your day? Your blogs are so fun, thanks for your comments on mine too! Have a better day k Dana!
