With the last day of 2008, I thought I'd write up a list of 2,008 things that we did this last year. Oh wait...that would take forever...um how 'bout 8 things instead?
1. Jonas turned one! Oh boy, has it been a great/fun/exciting first year.
2. Pete turned 30 (I know, he doesn't look it) and I turned 27.
3. Our first year of actually getting money back for taxes instead of paying the stinkin' government.
4. I started a blog and we both created facebook accounts. Both of these have helped to reconnect or keep a connection with our friends and family.
5. This last year has brought on our longest callings ever!!! That's mostly because we've never lived in one place longer than 9 months. Pete is EQ President and I'm 1st counselor in Primary.
6. Pete did his teaching 4th grade thing again and still likes it. I did the teaching thing too, but to music students, and I still like it.
7. We've officially had Tobey's (Pete's brother) saltwater fish tank for over a year now. We quite like the thing as long as it doesn't leak on our carpet :0) We enjoy the fishes' personality and are always wanting to buy more fish. Too bad they aren't as cheap as the freshwater fishies.
8. TWILIGHT MANIA! Okay, so I read all the books this year and even threw a party to usher in the arrival of the 4th and final book. Stood in line for the midnight release of the said book and liked it. Then there was the movie. Didn't stand in line for the midnight of this one and didn't like it so much. Anyway, it was a great year for Twilight.
And how 'bout 9 things to look forward to in 2009:
1. Pete getting his Master's Degree in April!
2. Dallin (my brother) getting home from his mission (Switzerland) in March.
3. The Stake Musical Pete and I are going to be participating in (March).
4. A summer where Pete can make money instead of use it for school.
5. More tax return money $$$ which will most likely pay to finish the fence around our house.
6. 1:00 church. Okay, I am not excited about it, but Pete sure is. I guess it will give me a chance to work on one of my goals this year: read the RS lesson! I should be able to do it with those two extra hours in the morning, right?
7. A vacation of some sort. We've thrown out ideas like another cruise, a visit to PEI (where Pete's dad grew up), Church History tour, and some others.
8. Jonas going into Nursery (can't believe it myself).
9. Pete's going to try to get picked for the LOTOJA bike ride lottery. Yes, he's completely insane, but I love the guy, what can I say?
And, a post cannot be complete without a picture or two, right? So, here are some for you to enjoy:
This picture was taken this morning, just after his bath (hence the pruned toes), but I wanted to capture the cutest thing he does: cross his ankles. And you can see how his second toe still sits higher than the rest of his toes.
The one on the right was just yesterday.
I got a new scrapbooking album for Christmas and this is the stack of layouts that need a home. Let's just say that only a small portion actually fit in the number of pages I had in the album. When I get the layouts posted on my scrapbooking page, I'll let y'all know.

Very fun! Just for the record, I think our husbands should hang out if we ever actually live close to each other. My husband prefers Clarks shoes over any other brand (for obvious reasons) and he is completely a road biking freak. Also, our husbands are the same age, as are you and I. Thanks for the fun post! A couple in our ward are heading to Switzerland on their mission in April. They will just miss Dallin!
I love the toe pic. So cute! And I love that you wrote a list of things of 2008 and to look forward in 2009. I will definitely have to do that! Mind if I copy you???:)
You guys are so lucky that your family is so close to get together often. So much fun!
Dana,
Wow! Looks like you had a good 2008 and lots to look forward to in 2009. Jonas is getting so big and handsome.
I love the new blog design, you are super talented. I have been trying to add a background paper to my blog and then do a scalloped white background on top of that... I can't figure it out! I'll have to give you a call, you probably know just how to do that!
I love that little boy of yours! I can't get over the crossing his feet thing. I giggle every time I think about it.
I do love the ID sunsets. Make sure your brother brings you home some CHOCOLATE. I had an FHE brother who, when he came home from Switzerland on his mission 'accidentally' ate all of the chocolate he had brought home that was SUPPOSED to be for his mother. His welcome hug was short lived.....
I can't believe Jonas will be in nursery!! WOW! I love the pics of the sunsets. I always take stuff like that for granted. I just love how Jonas crosses his little ankles. Love that kid!!
Happy New year! Are you making your own blog designs now? It's so cute! Where can I get one? You're so good to be so caught up on your scrapbooking. I'm so embarrassed to admit that I'm like a year behind! HELP! Looks like you guys had a great Christmas!
I'd like to know more about your rotation schedule for nursery. In reality, the nursery kids get to play with toys for about 45 minutes, I think, but am not 100% sure if they do anything else. When I get into the nursery about on the hour of the 2nd hour of church (sacrament is last) they have already had their lesson (away from toys with the accordion partition) and I do singing time for about 15 minutes depending on how the kids are. Then they do coloring and snacks for the last 20 minutes, but I think some of the kids pull out toys again towards the end, but I would really like to know what you're doing-it sounds like a great idea!
You've had a full year, and this year looks like another fun one too. I loved your christmas photos. Jonas was so cute with that chocolate swiss army knife. Landon likes to cross his ankles too and I think it so cute. You and Pete have a great New Year.
I like your year in review and your 9 things to look forward to in '09. Thanks for the Dallin Widget. I need to put it on my blog. I love Jonas' ankle crossing. He's so cute!
How fun! You're so talented. I want to thank to SO MUCH for the hair clips you made for Kenlee. I LOVE them!! You're a sweetheart for doing that for me on such short notice :).
I love the widget of Dallin I'll put it on mine when I hopefully update my blog soon since it has been 2 months. I just started work Monday so I'm trying to do house stuff. At least I'm only working part time. If I worked full time I think I would go insane.
