What you've all been DYING to see...

As many of you suspected, it was a baby quilt {no I'm not pregnant} and I am debating whether Jonas should have it or if I should keep it for the next. It was fun to make. I have to do lots of close-ups because a lot of the squares are different. I made it with my friend, Tevya, at Liz Seedall's house. She's the quiltin' queen to say the least and has the right attachment for her sewing machine that made this possible.

Here's the back

And a close-up of the back. You can see how it looks like it was quilted in squares. I loved the bird with its nest. I had to have it.

Here are the close-ups of the front. I attached ribbons, fibers, and buttons sporadically throughout the quilt.

And here's the second masterpiece. Only my SIL Amy could have guessed it perfectly. It is called Pavlova. It is an Australian dessert {Amy's Australian for those of you who didn't know}. She would make it for us up at college. You can leave it squishy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, but I cooked it longer so that it was crunchy all the way through. It melts like cotton candy {and tastes better in my opinion}. So you bake the pavlova and then top it with pudding, followed by fruit, and then finish it off with powdered sugar.

Jonas didn't really care for the Pavlova, so Jason {Tevya's husband} fed him some pudding.

A close up:

This was my last bite. It came all too quickly. It is a light dessert, so I could have eaten a lot more. Plus, having the fruit on top just makes it scrumdidlyumptious {apparently that is a real word because it didn't tell me that it was mispelled}!

That is ambitious. I have made a few quilts in my day and every time I start one, I remember why I don't do it more. I hate sewing. I want to like it, but I just don't. Hmm, I have enough hobbies. It looks awesome! I love it! If you ever want to make me one, I will buy the fabric! I know, pretty nice of me huh?!

Your quilt turned out really cute. I probably wouldn't ever attempt making one because I probably wouldn't finish it.

What a great idea for a quilt, what with the ribbons and buttons and all. Where did you get your fabric? Liz is definitely the queen of quilting!
